Loudon County Health Improvement Council…

The Loudon County Health Improvement Council is an accomplished public health organization that serves as a catalyst for prevention efforts. The Council was established in 1994 as one of the three original health councils in the state of Tennessee. The Loudon County Health Improvement Council has been recognized by state and local officials for developing and implementing model prevention initiatives in the areas of social, emotional, and physical well being. In 2000, the Council received the Healthy Kids Community Award in recognition for its innovative programming targeting children.

Ongoing programming and the fostering of policy changes are at the forefront of the Council’s mission. By strengthening local leadership and traditions, the agency has generated over a million dollars in programs and services for the citizens of Loudon County. The LCHIC is recognized as a community leader because of its proactive approach to addressing issues that adversely affect the health of our citizens.

The Loudon County Health Improvement Council’s mission is to improve the wellness of children and families in our community. The mission is accomplished by empowering citizens and organizations of our community to join together in order to:
  • Serve as an advocate for community health related issues, with special emphasis in the areas of improving access to care and enhancing health status.
  • Identify community health needs.
  • Create public awareness concerning identified needs.
  • Develop and coordinate programs to address identified needs through ongoing community collaboration and support.
